It is unknown how the film did critically, but many people remarked that Vince was better in the original Aquaman than Jake Gyllenhaal was in Aquaman 2. However, [[Alan Gray]] said he wished he could have cast Jake in the first Aquaman instead of Vince after he saw Jake's screen tests for Aquaman 2. It's possible that he was saying this just to anger Ari.
